In the fall of 2020, 34,188 students submitted applications to ASU. Hence, the school offered admission to a total of 29,562 applicants.

Hence, the competency areas include English, math, laboratory science, social science, second language, and fine arts or career/technical education.

SAT & ACT Requirements for Arizona State University
Arizona State University does not require SAT or ACT scores for admission.
On the other hand, students who have taken one of these standardized tests may choose to submit their scores. This will simply serve as a supplement to application information or for the purpose of ASU course placement.
One way that students can submit test scores to Arizona State University is by requesting to have College Board or ACT who can do so automatically on their behalf when they register for the test. Half of the students who are admitted to Arizona State University have SAT scores between 1100 and 1320 or ACT scores between 21 and 28.

So, two of these aptitude requirements are either an SAT score of 1120 or 1180 for residents and non-residents, respectively, or an ACT score of 22 or 24.

Other Requirements and Admission Tips for ASU
As mentioned previously, ASU applicants must meet one of four aptitude requirements in order to be considered for admission.
Hence, these four requirements include an SAT score of 1120 or an ACT score of 22 for resident applicants or 1180 or 24 for out-of-state students.
However, other than one of these two test scores, students can meet the aptitude requirement by either achieving a 3.0 GPA in competency courses or by graduating in the top 25% of their high school class.
Meanwhile, the college has stated that these requirements are general guidelines for admission, but that students who do not meet any of the above standards may still be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis.
On the other hand, aptitude requirements can vary according to the particular degree program the student intends to pursue. So, it will be wise for all ASU students to check what they need for their specific program through ASU’s degree research.
So, ASU advises prospective students to apply as early as possible. Students can self-report their grades to the school rather than submitting a transcript to expedite the admission process.
Sending in an official final transcript is still required in order to help the student get enrolled in a class. Hence the need for the self-reported grades to match those reflected in the transcript, or else admission may be revoked.
Essays for Arizona State
ASU does not require essays or personal statements for first-year applicants.
Students can apply through ASU’s online application, the Common Application, or the Coalition Application. It should be noted, therefore, that none of these processes is preferred over the others by the school.
Again, both the Common Application and the Coalition Application offer a number of options for essay prompts. However, ASU’s application process does not mandate that students complete responses to any of these in order to be considered for admission.
