A pink screen is a discoloration in the display. It becomes more prominent when the red in the RGB color scheme is at maximum. The green is lying somewhere in the middle and the blue is almost at its maximum. Displays use the RGB color scheme to display the different colors on your laptop. Now, the pinkish hue can cover the whole display and appear as lines running across the display or certain areas having pink pixels. Understand that pink screens can be really troublesome.

However, if the external monitor does not display any pink hue, then it is a hardware problem and something must be wrong with your LCD. Common hardware problems:

Here are steps you can use in fixing a pink screen on a computer:

  • The first step requires you to check to ensure the cable between the computer and monitor is connected securely. To do this, gently jiggle the connection. If this changes or improves a pink screen, it is a loose cable connection. Simply plug the cable into the slot securely.
  • For the second step, completely disconnect the monitor cable. Inspect the ends for loose or bent pins. Then replace the cable if you discover any flaws.
  • Take the third step of resetting your monitor settings back to factory defaults. This will ensure the pink hue is simply not a result of changes to the monitor color settings.
  • Then replace the monitor. In case the above-mentioned steps do not help, it means your monitor may be going bad. Except the monitor is new or expensive, repairing it could be impractical. In this case, you can simply replace the monitor.

The pink screen on a computer can hamper its optimal performance and needs to be solved immediately. Once you follow the above-mentioned steps, you should easily fix the issue.
