How to View Saved Password on Android

Viewing saved passwords in google chrome is with the help of Google password manager. Which can be located at the browser settings. Below is how to navigate to the Google Password manager.

  1. Launch Google Chrome
  2. At the top right side of your screen, tap on the three dots menu.
  3. Navigate to settings and tap on it.
  4. Click on the password.

The google password manager will list all the sites you have visited that requires login details and the saved username and password in alphabetical order with an eye-like option to click and view password. Because the username is always shown but the password is hidden.

How to View Hidden Password in Google Password Manager

When you arrive at the list of all saved passwords in the password manager, you will notice that the passwords are all hidden, but right behind it is an eye-like icon to view it.

  • Navigate to the site you want to view the password.
  • Tap on the eye-like icon, you would be prompted to enter your computer lock screen security.
  • If your lock screen security is password or fingerprint, input it and the hidden password will be shown in plain text.

How to Delete Saved Passwords on Chrome

In the event you don’t want your password saved or store on chrome for security reasons, or you are going to be accessing your device with someone and you don’t want Google password manager to still keep saved password especially your bank login username and password plus other sites you have made a purchase from, you can wipe your saved password from chrome.

  • Open Google chrome
  • Tap at the three dots menu at the right top side of your screen
  • Go to settings
  • Navigate to password
  • On the list of site and passwords, tap on the password you want deleted to select it
  • Click on the trash-can-shape icon to wipe your password or click on the three dots at the right end side of the password and tap remove.

Don’t Want your Passwords Saved? How to Disable the Save Password Option

In the event you don’t want google chrome to collect and save login details of sites you visit, you can disable the offer to save password option on the settings. So Chrome won’t save your passwords.

  1. Open chrome
  2. Tap on the three dots menu
  3. Navigate to settings then password
  4. Toggle to turn off the offer to save passwords.

How to Export Saved PasswordsOn Google Chrome

Let’s say you want to delete your account from chrome or want to sign off from your account in chrome and sign in on another device. You can export your password to either another chrome account or device.

  • Open chrome
  • Tap the three dots menu
  • Navigate to settings then password
  • On the saved password at the top of all saved passwords, tap the three dots button.
  • Click the export password
  • Authentic with your screen security lock
  • Chose the folder location
  • Click save

Passwords will be exported as plaintext visible to anyone who can access the saved file location.
